The Britalian Way x Maison Mimi

Hey guys,  I’m here today to talk about something  I have been waiting so long to share with you. Remember my screen-shot-2016-11-23-at-10-42-23post about #BloggersBall ?  Well, I mentioned that I had met someone very interesting at that event and I can finally announce who it is and what all went down after that.

I met an amazing young woman by the name of  Mimi at the #BloggersBall back in July and  we were able to have a nice chat and exchange contacts. A couple of days later I received a call from Mimi, who explained why she had approached me at the event and told me a bit more about her company.

Mimi is a young designer from Nigeria, who happens to have her own clothing line called ‘Maison Mimi’ . I was really excited about the freshness of her ideas and the way she worked were definitely something I wanted to be a part of. So when she proposed I’d model for her clothing line, of course my answer was ‘Hell,YES!’. After several weeks after the call, we finally shot the photos on a (unexpected)sunny July afternoon!

The photoshoot took place in KingsCroos St.Pancreas, in a lovely corner which you can see in the pictures. I must admit I was  bit nervous when I arrived, but soon after  changing into the outfits, I was ready to go! As I hadn’t done any kind of modelings in over eight years, it was quite the challenge to have a bunch of people staring at me while I posed in front of the camera. There was this one guy in particular, who set outside a pub(in front of which we were shooting), who kept shouting :”ain’t you a pretty one?” , or asking if I was a model while drinking his (perhaps fifth) beer. Awkward much ?

But by the time I got into the third outfit I really did feel like a model and I had it all figured… NOT! I mean, I did manage to feel much more comfortable in front of the camera by the third change of clothes, but  I must admit that I absolutely hated having to walk up and down in high heels, because as much as I love heels, they are not a girls best choice when it comes to comfort.maison-mimi-isabel-watson_tbw-8-_8_bellanaija

At the end of the photoshoot, the pain was real, but so was the satisfaction. I absolutely loved collaborating with MaisonMimi, and meeting the amazing photographer Elvis . I enjoyed myself so much, and I’m so grateful I got the change to work with someone who I actually admire. What I mostly appreciate of Mimi, is that she is a genuine girl, with lots of talent, who likes to make her models feel comfortable in her clothes. I was so glad that I was able to  select the items from her collection that really reflected my style and personality. This collaboration reminded me of why I moved to London two years ago. Being inspired every day and mixing with people who inspire me is what I really love about this city.

The article which talks about the collaboration has now gone public on so many blogs and websites such as : https://www.bellanaija.com– http://www.arazuri.com/http://olorisupergal.com/ and http://pulse.ng/.

Hope you guys enjoyed this post and feel inspired after reading this!
