Sticks’n’ Sushi. The best sushi I’ve tried in London so far.

Scrolling through Instagram a few weeks ago, I came across a sushi picture in which the restaurant was tagged. The picture portrayed a delicious looking sushi, and was tagged STICKS’N’ SUSHI. So the weekend after my graduation, I knew where I wanted my partner and I to go and eat.

I checked the online menu to make sure they had the EBI tempura rice roll, which is THE ONLY sushi I eat(as it’s cooked shrimp) and to my surprise, they actually did. I don’t know why every sushi place doesn’t have the EBI roll on their menu to be honest, as I think it’s one of the most delicious things I’ve ever tasted in my life.

So, last week we decided to head to Central London and hit the Sticks’n sushi restaurant in Covent Garden. When we got there we were asked whether we preferred to share a large table with other customers or sit at the bar. I wasn’t really looking to sit on high chairs as  I wanted to enjoy our meal whilst sitting on comfortable seats, so we opted for the shared table instead.

The decision turned out to be a very good one, as the big round table allowed Andrea and I to have enough privacy while still being seated at a table with ‘normal’ chairs. The atmosphere was really nice, and the restaurant is quite fancy with dimmed lights and dark furniture.

I flicked through the menu for a while, just to see what was there, but I already knew what I was going to order. I don’t usually eat meat, but the meat appetizers were hard to resist. I ordered the GYU HĀBU Rib-eye beef with miso herb butter, the YAKINIKU Rib-eye beef with Japanese marinade, and the RAMUYAKI Lamb chop with miso herb butter(see MENU here). My partner opted for the SHAKE INSIDE-OUT Salmon roll, an EBI roll, and a CRUNCHY CHICKEN roll( yes, we ate A LOT!).

I really wanted a crème brûlée for dessert and couldn’t stop laughing when it arrived. Andrea and I had ordered it to share, and despite being delicious, unfortunately, the size of it meant that we got a bite each. When the waiter asked how we found the dessert, Andrea couldn’t help but mention ‘Well, a bit small, but..’.Basically, what we were really thinking is’ It was really nice, but we wouldn’t waste our money on it again’.

The service at Sticks’n’ sushi was absolutely amazing and we loved it so much that to tell the truth, we’ve already gone back.

Hope you all enjoyed this post and hit the Sticks’n’ sushi restaurant to taste their delicious food.

Until next time!
